In 2021, the internationally renowned harpist Margret Köll, who comes from Tyrol and lives in Berlin, founded the “Harfenbiennale Innsbruck”, a series of events with a festival character in which the harp takes centre stage and is explored in all its facets.
The third Harfenbiennale Innsbruck is dedicated to the often overlooked contributions of women in music history and the question of how much, since when and why the harp is considered a women’s instrument. As in previous events, the focus is on the historical harp in dialogue with early music, folk music and contemporary works.
The festival includes concerts, performances, the Call for Concert competition, workshops and lectures and invites you to celebrate the diversity and beauty of music by women and femmes.
The exact programme will be announced separately.
