The Art Circle was created to promote the art and cultural assets of the Tyrolean state museums and to support numerous exhibitions. The Art Circle also offers the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with other art enthusiasts.
After last year’s successful Summer Night Festival, this year’s event will take place for the third time in the cloister of the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum.

This year’s centrepiece of the evening is the Aigner Codex from 1823, which is owned by the Ferdinandeum Library and is in need of extensive restoration. The rare, partially coloured views of the city of Innsbruck can be viewed exclusively at the Art Circle Gala. Roland Sila, curator of the library, will talk about the conception and provenance of the Aigner Codex. Paper restorer Alexander Fohs, who knows all about the challenges of restoring historical books, will give an insight into his day-to-day work.
