The first comprehensive monograph by Italian artist Alessandra Spranzi will be presented as part of a book launch. The volume “La dimensione delle cose” brings together over twenty years of artistic work – from photographs and collages to found images, drawings and video works.
Spranzi’s approach sees photography less as a technique and more as a form of seeing, enlarging, reducing and reassembling. Her works transform everyday objects, fragments and memories into poetic shifts in which the familiar becomes strange and at the same time can be experienced anew.
The catalogue, edited by Ilaria Gianni in collaboration with the artist, provides chronological and thematic access to her oeuvre. The texts by Cecilia Canziani, Estelle Hoy, Quinn Latimer and Simone Menegoi offer diverse perspectives and in-depth insights into the artist’s work. The presentation in Innsbruck follows visits to other cultural partners of the project in Bologna, Madrid and Paris.
The event will be held in Italian with German translation.
