Rembrandt and Co. are confronted with contemporary questions in a new book published by the Tyrolean State Museums. Did shitposting already exist in the 17th century? What “flowery dramas” are playing out in Rachel Ruysch’s paintings?
Answers to these questions can be found in the book “Von Shitposts und Kleinen Eiszeiten. Dutch Paintings Rediscovered” (published by Kerber) – and at the book presentation on 27 May, where art historians Nina Schedlmayer and Wolfgang Ullrich, as well as co-editor Ulrike Hofer and collection director Delia Scheffer will be in conversation.
Moderation: Gerlinde Tamerl-Lugger
The book is available in the museum shops of the Tiroler Landesmuseen as well as in the online shop and in regular bookshops.
