The show restoration of the Archaeological Collection of the Tyrolean State Museums offers insights into the working methods of the experts and provides a glimpse behind the scenes of museum work.
Restorer Rebecca Sandbichler uses a modern object to demonstrate the individual steps of ceramic restoration: How are shards reassembled and glued together? What technical skills do restorers need to have? Do missing parts of objects always have to be filled and coloured? And how important is documentation in order to preserve archaeological objects for the future?
These and other questions will be addressed at the Neighbourhood Festival 2025 at the Museum im Zeughaus.
