Can a dot mark stillness, an arrow create tension and a line represent the future, present and past?

Heinz Gappmayr, one of the most important and internationally recognised representatives of Austrian visual poetry, would have turned 100 this year. To mark this anniversary, we are dedicating an exhibition in public space to him. Works by him will be presented at ten different locations throughout the provincial capital.

Gappmayr’s works are not about unambiguity, but about spaces of possibility. About a different way of seeing and a new way of thinking about language.

The guided tour in the form of a city walk through Innsbruck provides insights into Gappmayr’s world of ideas and artistic thinking, the genesis of the project and the interplay between art and public space.
