Where are the women in the Tirol Panorama with Kaiserjägermuseum? So far they have hardly made an appearance. In the special exhibition “Hosenrolle? Women in portraits between 1809-1918”, we are putting them in the spotlight – as militant women of the anti-Napoleonic era and as helping and fighting women in the First World War.
Curator Sonia Buchroithner uses selected biographies to provide insights into the role of women in these armed conflicts. What stories do the objects tell us and where do the boundaries between myth and historical evidence become blurred in our memories?
