On the international “Day of the White Cane”, we are presenting the inclusive tour “Seeing parlours differently” at the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum together with the Tyrolean Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BSVT). In 2022, a tactile guidance system was installed in the Folk Art Museum to enable blind and visually impaired people to visit the museum individually.
As part of the inclusive exhibition design, an accompanying audio tour was created that enables visitors with and without visual impairments to experience the museum’s parlours in a new way. The guide includes a room description, themed texts, integrates the tactile stations and, like the signage system, was developed in cooperation with the Tyrol Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BSVT).

On this day, we are offering a special programme together with the BSVT
10 am: Project presentation for interested visitors and press representatives
11 am, 2 pm & 3 pm: Free taster tours based on the audio tour for blind, visually impaired and sighted people, optionally with a blindfold
10 am – 4 pm: Information stand in the foyer about accessibility in the museum
4 pm: Exchange of experiences over an aperitif
