The Innsbruck armoury was commissioned by Maximilian I around 1500 as an armoury. The complex, which is now run as the House of Tyrolean History(s) as part of the Tyrolean Provincial Museums, is the only surviving Maximilian armoury in Austria.
Special attention was paid to the building’s history when the main exhibition was reopened in 2024. Since then, the terrestrial laser scan of the building created by ./studio3 in 2019 has been on permanent display. The tour on Monument Day will focus on aspects of the building’s history, the revitalisation measures and the historical significance of this secular building. Participants with a head for heights will have the opportunity to take a look into the attic.
