The “Museum in the Making” series of talks aims to publicly discuss the remodelling, benefits and visions for the new Ferdinandeum. The museum team enters into dialogue with a wide range of experts – and answers questions from the public.
“Denk mal Museum neu” is about the new Ferdinandeum, a museum that wants to help shape the present and yet will remain, at least in part, a historical building and a monument. Preservation and marvelling meet lively co-design and new forms of creativity – but how can this be achieved? Which stories of the “old” museum need to be preserved and which need to be said goodbye to make room for the future? The event will take place whatever the weather.
These and other questions will be discussed by Lukas Madersbacher (Chairman of the Advisory Board of the City and Townscape Conservation for Tyrol and University Professor of Art History) and Gabriele Neumann (Provincial Conservator for Tyrol) in dialogue with the museum staff and the audience.
The event will take place at AliPaloma’s “Museum Satellite” in the middle of the public space – an installation realised as part of the “Ferdinandeum: Art on the Building Site” project.
