From heaven to hell

With diverse works by artists from Tyrol as well as numerous international positions, the tenth edition of "arttirol" invites you on a moving walk through the contemporary art world:

The exhibition welcomes us with Matt Mullican's (*1951) sky in red-white-red. An installation by Tyrolean artist Martin Gostner (*1957) points the way along around 80 individual works. We encounter Sarah Bogner's (*1980) cheerful horses and Anna Jermolaewa's (*1970) brave pigeons, while Marianne Vitale's (*1973) charred bridge criticises Western society and Silke Wagner's (*1968) VW bus questions the handling of the deportation of people seeking protection. A work by Thomas Feuerstein (*1968) makes visitors break out in a sweat, while Matthias Krinzinger's (*1982) work does not cause beads of sweat to roll down the sad cheeks of smoking children, but rather tears. At the end of the tour is Michele Parisi's "I ricordi sostituiscono gli occhi" (memories replace eyes), a work whose motif threatens to dissolve into darkness as the exhibition progresses.
