Although the Ferdinandeum is expected to remain closed until 2028 due to renovation work, museum enthusiasts need not miss out on their art experience. Under the banner ‘Ferdinandeum on the Move’, exhibitions and selected items from the collections of the Tyrolean State Museums are on display at other venues in Innsbruck and Tyrol.
Florian Waldvogel, Head of the Modern Collection at the Tyrolean State Museums, and research assistant Sofia Ohmer are currently acting as interim directors of Kunstraum Innsbruck.
The 2025/2026 annual programme at Kunstraum Innsbruck kicks off with a joint exhibition by Clément Cogitore and Andrzej Steinbach. Both artists explore questions of representation, memory and identity – Steinbach in his photographic series, which take an analytical look at social codes, and Cogitore in his film and photographic works, which interweave narrative and historical layers to create complex visual worlds. The juxtaposition of these two approaches creates a dynamic interplay of different artistic methods, each of which, in its own way, reveals and questions social structures.
MELANIE GANDYRA
During the collaboration between Kunstraum Innsbruck and Moderne Collection TLM, Melanie Gandyra, a freelance illustrator and artist from Hamburg, will take over the adjoining exhibition space. With her images of botanical and organic forms, she transforms the space into a shop where visitors can purchase artist’s editions created especially for Kunstraum Innsbruck.
