AliPaloma is designing the first artistic project at the Ferdinandeum construction site from autumn 2025. She will accompany the museum's remodelling process on two levels: with an installation on the construction fence and with the "Museum Satellite", a seating island in public space.
AliPaloma's construction fence poses questions about participation, change and the role of the museum for society. Can a building become a dialogue? Which walls need to come down? Which voices are still missing? - are just three of the artist's many questions, which the museum's multilingual team has translated and expanded on.
In the immediate vicinity of the building site, the "Museum Satellite" invites visitors to search for answers together. Its design is inspired by the historic rotunda on the ground floor of the Ferdinandeum, which will in future serve as a place for exchange, spontaneous encounters and a variety of programme items. The museum satellite is already taking up this function during the renovation phase and makes it possible to experience how the museum can function as a lively meeting place in the future.
AliPaloma's work focusses on social norms, gender equality and equal rights. Together with Johanna Tinzl, she is the winner of the "Ferdinandeum: Art on the Building Site" competition.
