The RLB Art Prize is being awarded for the eleventh time this year. This prize for fine art was established in 2004 by Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol to promote the younger generation of Tyrolean artists. It is aimed at all artists born or living in the province of Tyrol up to the age of 40 and is awarded every two years. A main prize of 10,000 euros and two sponsorship prizes of 4,000 euros each are awarded.
Since 2006, the main prize has been associated with an exhibition in cooperation with the Tyrolean State Museums in Innsbruck. The prizewinners presented at the Ferdinandeum to date have been Anna-Maria Bogner (2023), Oliver Laric (2021), Karin Ferrari (2019), Stefan Klampfer (2017), Michael Strasser (2015), Christoph Raitmayr (2013), Annja Krautgasser (2011), Christoph Hinterhuber (2009) and Thomas Feuerstein (2007).
The prize is awarded by a changing jury of experts, whose members this year are Silvia Höller (Head of RLB Kunstbrücke Innsbruck), Harald Krejci (Director Museum der Moderne Salzburg), Bettina Siegele (Artistic Director and Managing Director of Künstler*innen Vereinigung Tirol), Bettina Spörr (Curator Secession Vienna) and Bärbel Vischer (Curator MAK Vienna).
