What happens when a 200-year-old cultural institution like the Ferdinandeum is reorganised? The imminent closure of the museum from 1 July 2024 requires, in particular, a reorganisation of its library.

Part of its holdings will be relocated to the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum. This will ensure the continuous availability of the library for users. Other objects from the Folk Art Museum will be temporarily stored in the depot of the Tyrolean State Museums in the Collection and Research Centre. A logistical challenge that requires careful planning and realisation. Expert packing, transport and storage of the objects are essential, as is setting up a functioning library at the new location.

On three dates, visitors will have the opportunity to look over the experts’ shoulders as they work and enter into dialogue with them.
