Training for teachers

Tyrolean history(ies) retold

In the armoury, where Emperor Maximilian I once stored weapons and ammunition, visitors will be able to experience Tyrolean history in a new way from April 2024: Why is Tyrol a brand? Who gets a monument in Tyrol? How does traffic change the Tyrolean landscape?

Tyrol’s regional history is rich in phenomena that influence the present due to its geopolitical location, the Alpine landscape and the historical actors. The new permanent exhibition in the Zeughaus uses selected examples to focus on current issues such as colonisation, the immigration and emigration of people, the relationship of people to their environment and social affiliation. Interactive elements for children and adults enable a personal approach to a shared Tyrolean history.

This afternoon offers Tyrolean teachers the opportunity to get to know the new permanent exhibition on Tyrol’s history in the Zeughaus in short guided tours, small workshops and discussion rounds together with experts from the museum, exhibition curators, cultural mediators and external specialists.
