Curator’s tour

Laura Resenberg, curator and head of restoration at the Tyrolean Provincial Museums, will guide you through the exhibition and into the world of conservation and restoration. The profession offers much more than the cliché image of a restorer who sits at the easel and makes everything “shine in new splendour”.

What distinguishes paper conservators from textile conservators? What do restorers do when moths have taken up residence in valuable collection objects? What effort is involved when a work of art is loaned out? What questions are answered in research?

You will be surprised at the diversity of the case studies that illustrate the wide range of tasks performed by conservators. You can also look over the shoulder of a conservator during her work and ask questions.
